Snapshots are a key feature in Vertex. As mentioned in the previous article, when you add a pin and comment, a snapshot is automatically created. You can also create a snapshot manually, without having to add a pin. Do this when you want to capture the current camera view and geometry shown in the viewing area. You will be able to return to that view at any time, and if you add the snapshot to a story, collaborators can provide feedback on the snapshot and, if the story creator allows, export all visible geometry in the snapshot. Snapshots are interactive, not static images.
To create a snapshot, do the following:
- Set up the view that you want to capture.
Example: Turn off everything but the subassembly you want to analyze, and center it in the viewing area.
- Click Capture Snapshot
.
A snapshot of your view is added to the Snapshots panel
. It is automatically saved to the file until you delete it.
- To rename a snapshot, select the current title and type a new one.
- To switch between snapshots, click a snapshot. The viewing area updates.
